Having been raised on folk and bluegrass music, Gal longed for a re-connection to her musical "kinsfolk" in her new home of New Orleans. Following Hurricane Katrina and her subsequent effects over the New Orleans musical community, The Honky Tonk Revue returned with a renewed spirit and musical vision.
